On Sunday, Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit, inaugurated a bridge across the Najafgarh drain at Ambarahi village in Dwarka. The minister said that four more bridges over the drain are being constructed to link unauthorised colonies around Ambarahi with Dwarka. The bridge has been constructed at a cost of R5 crore and is 119-metre long and 11-metre wide. It will connect a number of colonies around Ambarahi to other parts of Dwarka.

After regularising 900 odd unauthorised colonies, the Delhi government is planning to regularise other colonies that were left out from the process. “Regularisation of the remaining unauthorised colonies is in the pipeline. The decision of regularisation will benefit house-owners... as the value of land will increase many fold, with acceleration in development works,” added the CM.

Dikshit further said that the government would soon allow sale and purchase in the recently-regularised unauthorised colonies. Also, in an apparent reference to Arvind Kejriwal whose party is planning to contest the next Assembly polls, Dikshit said people should not fall into the trap of ‘mischievous’ elements and ‘seasonal frogs’.

Without mentioning the name of Kejriwal, the minister said certain elements were trying to create lawlessness in the city for electoral gains. “I am confident that people will not be influenced,” she said.

Kejriwal has been demanding a cut in power tariff and asked people not to pay power bills till the tariff is brought down.
