Khan market’s middle lane ready for the revamp

With upgradation of Khan Market ongoing presently, the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) is all set to begin with phase-II of the project which includes improvement of the middle lane at a cost of Rs 5 crore.

With upgradation of Khan Market ongoing presently, the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) is all set to begin with phase-II of the project which includes improvement of the middle lane at a cost of Rs 5 crore.

One of the most costly commercial real estate in India, Khan Market is also a favoured shopping destinations for diplomats and foreign tourists. The civic body is now trying to give a facelift to this upscale market as it is in dire need of repair.

Concerns regarding the crumbling infrastructure of the market has been raised by the traders of the market, also.

“All services like water and power lines are in the middle lane only. We will now make a duct bank there so that the service lines can be placed underground. For this, there would be a requirement of laying all new service lines to avoid frequent cutting of middle lane for repair and maintenance of these services,” said an MCD official.
