The police fined 242 motorists and issued notices to 43 under Section 115 of the Motor Vehicles Act.

“Games trials took place at Siri Fort Auditorium, RK Khanna Stadium, Tyagraj Stadium, Delhi University and we imposed partial restrictions on the roads leading to the stadia during athletes’ movement. Traffic crawled on these lanes,” said Satyendra Garg, Joint CP (Traffic).

The worst-affected roads were the Dhaula Kaun Flyover, Mathura Road, ITO, Teen Murti Marg and August Kranti Marg, traffic officials said.

Garg said the traffic crawl was much higher during the day compared to the evening.
