“He has been identified as Dhaniram Mittal. We arrested him from Haryana’s Dabhwali on March 11 where he and his associate Teja Singh, 50, were to sell vehicles stolen from Delhi. The first case against him was registered in 1964,” said Meenu Choudhary, DCP (northwest).
Police said they were led to Mittal — who recently stole nine vehicles from different parts of the Capital — after his foster son Sanjay Mittal was arrested on December 26, 2010.
According to the police, Mittal had enrolled as a lawyer in the 1970s. He would even steal vehicles parked in various Delhi and Rohtak court premises, where he used to practise.
