As far as communication is concerned, Delhi University, it seems, is approaching the masses with just about every possible means.

The DU Hindi website which was initiated on September 15 last year on the occasion of Hindi Diwas is fetching a lot of attention among the DU aspirants. This website was launched keeping the students in mind who are not much at ease with the English language.

Delhi University Computer Centre (DUCC) translates and uploads the information regarding the admission process on a daily basis.

Though the English website is a much popular option for the admission seekers with almost 6 lakhs entries every day which is almost 10 times more in comparison to the Hindi website but DU declares that that this new website is gradually getting ahead.

"DU's Hindi website is one of the most far-reaching Hindi websites in India. We update our website with each and every detail coming up. Nevertheless, it is still to gain that force which rests with the English website. It has to be there to gain more access and recognition as well," said Shobhit Mahajan, director, DUCC.

However, he added that the website is in the developing process.

The Hindi website can be accessed through the link available on DU's official website ( ) wherein all the information and details regarding the courses, cut-offs, college profiles, faculty, syllabi changes, etc are listed in Hindi.

"We have to upload the records of about 80 colleges, 440 courses, and 800 faculty members and the list goes on. But the tempo of the uploading process is a bit slow because it is difficult to get good translators," said Mahajan.

For this purpose the university is engaging students of M.Phil and MA in Hindi as there is a need for constant translation," said a working member of the website team.

"The English and Hindi websites have to move together as we can't miss a single information on the Hindi website," adds Mahajan.

Delhi University is reaching greater heights as far as the admission process is concerned and is making the procedure simpler day by day.
