Man thrashes pregnant wife, kills unborn child

An unemployed man thrashes his pregnant wife and accidentally kills their unborn baby inNew Delhi reports HT Correspondent.

An unemployed man allegedly thrashed his pregnant wife and accidentally killed their unborn baby in Jahangirpuri about a week ago. Police said the woman, who contacted them only on Friday, has also complained of dowry harassment.

An officer said 20-year-old Kavita was two-and-a-half month pregnant. She got married just five months ago and lives along with her husband and mother-in-law in Block A. Her husband Pradeep picked up a fight with her over dowry last week and thrashed her, she told the police.

“According to Kavita, Pradeep was so enraged that he forgot she was pregnant. Kavita went to a hospital where doctors confirmed that the unborn child had died due to the thrashing,” said an officer.

The husband is absconding.
