Many saw the murder, but no one’s a witness

Although the police has made continuous appeals to the public, no one has volunteered any useable information.

“There were so many people present at the time of the murder. It is a very busy street but no one has come forward to help us. We will find the killer come what may, but if people do come out and help us, Radhika’s killer can be nabbed sooner,” said HGS Dhaliwal, deputy commissioner of police (south).

The police have assured that the identity of the person who volunteers information, will be kept secret.

Even though a bunch of Delhi University students, including Radhika’s classmates, and a few passersby have claimed they saw a man similar to the sketch issued by the police, no one has any concrete information.

Even chief minister Sheila Dikshit has said that Delhiites need to be more responsive.

“As a civil society, we need to be more responsive. A vigilant society will raise its voice. People can help in Radhika case. I totally agree this is a law and order issue. If you remember I slammed the police two days ago and I have been pursuing the issue with the police,” she said.

She also said that it is a matter of great concern. The attacks are taking place on women. We hardly hear about any such attacks on men. The police must be more sensitive to ensure safety and security to women.
