Mass x Media = Good career
Mass Media and Mass Communication course requires no particular background. An aptitude for the media as a profession and an urge to express, create and innovate should be the driving force for students who want to pursue the course.
University of Delhi’s Indraprastha College for Women started a course in Mass Media and Mass Communication 10 years ago.
Affiliated to the Faculty of Applied and Social Sciences, University of Delhi, it is a three-year degree course offered only by Indraprastha.

Mass Media and Mass Communication course requires no particular background. An aptitude for the media as a profession and an urge to express, create and innovate should be the driving force for students who want to pursue the course.
Students from virtually all streams — Arts, Science and Commerce — can apply for the course. A student who is interested — we admit only girl students — in Electronic Media, Print Media, Advertising, PR, Cyber Media, etc is fit for the course.
Interest in the field is the main criteria, so the eligibility to sit for the entrance is 55 per cent for General category students and 50 per cent for the reserved category.
The admission is based on the student’s performance in a three-tier entrance test - the Objective Test, which deals with general knowledge, General English and General Awareness test, Creative writing and an interview.
Course offerings
The course, which offers hand-on training along with theory lessons, is spread over six semesters.
The college is also a proud owner of a state-of-the-art audio-visual studio, equipped with modern cameras, editing suits and software and photography equipment.
Beside the regular curriculum we expose our students to actual practitioners from the field of media who take workshops on varied topics. This helps students to have a fair idea of what’s in store for them after they pass out.
The placement cell helps them take up internships after the fourth semester in the IInd year. Students can also pursue higher studies in the subject by opting for post-graduation courses in India and abroad.
