An eight-year-old disabled girl was brutally stabbed to death Sunday by her own father as he could not cope with her treatment and upbringing, police said.

An eight-year-old disabled girl was brutally stabbed to death Sunday by her own father as he could not cope with her treatment and upbringing, police said.

The victim, Rajni, who was polio-stricken since birth, was found in a pool of blood at her house in Shanti Nagar area of Ambala city, 45 km from Chandigarh.

The girl's father, Neel Pal, who stabbed her several times after beating her up Sunday, was arrested by police from the spot. The sword used by him to stab his daughter was also found there. Police officials said that the accused did not run from the spot after killing his daughter.

Police were informed of the incident by relatives.
