NRI commits suicide in Vasant Kunj hotel

A 55-year-old Non-Resident Indian (NRI) was found dead in a hotel in south Delhi's Vasant Kunj area on Wednesday night. The police have ruled out any foul play as there were no visible injury marks.

A 55-year-old Non-Resident Indian (NRI) was found dead in a hotel in south Delhi's Vasant Kunj area on Wednesday night. The police have ruled out any foul play as there were no visible injury marks. Initial investigation revealed that he committed suicide by consuming poison.

Verghese, who hailed from Kerala and used to live in New York, was found dead in his room by a hotel staff. "His brother in Kerala and other family members, who are in the US, have been informed," a senior police officer said. At 8.30pm on Wednesday, a cleaner went into the room and found his body on the bed.

He informed his seniors, who then made a PCR call. A suicide note has also been recovered.
