The Supreme Court-ordered drive against illegal commercial units in the Capital continued on Thursday with the MCD sealing 149 properties in the city.
Since resuming the sealing drive in Delhi on Monday, officials of the corporation have taken action against 1013 properties.
A maximum number of 35 units were sealed in West zone today -- in Rajouri Garden, Kirti Nagar, Vishnu Garden, Shankar Garden and Tilak Nagar areas.
Twenty-five units were sealed in Dilshad Garden and Seema Puri while action was also taken against properties in Mukherjee Nagar, Rana Pratap Bagh, Vasant Vihar, Madangir, Shastri Nagar and Shalimar Bagh, among other areas.
There was no sealing action in Narela zone on Thursday.
The Supreme Court had on March 10 asked the civic body to seal within three months all shops not covered by the Master Plan for Delhi-2021 or the January 30 notification of the Central government.
The MCD had issued a notice asking owners to stop commercial activities within 45 days. The deadline had expired on Sunday.
The Centre has announced that it will amend the Master Plan in a month's time to provide relief to more people from the sealing drive. The ruling BJP in MCD has been demanding a general amnesty scheme for traders.
