Delhi University’s Open Day sessions on Thursday attracted a large number of hopefuls and parents. The deputy dean of cultural affairs, Suchitra Gupta, and that of student welfare, Gulshan Sawhney, answered their questions, some of which were:

Can OBC/SC/ST candidates produce caste certificates of their parents if they do not have ones of their own?
No. It is mandatory for candidates to produce OBC/SC/ST certificates that mention their names. If candidates have applied for the certificate and not received it, they may produce the application number.

Who can apply under the OBC/SC/ST categories?
Only those candidates whose castes or tribes are recognised by the Centre can seek admission under the categories.

Who can apply for BSc math?
Anyone with math as a main subject can apply for the course.

Does any college have an individual form?
Jesus and Mary College and St Stephen’s College have forms separate from the centralised one.

Is the presence of the candidate necessary to fill the pre-admission form?
The pre-admission form does not require the candidate’s signature. But the presence of the candidates along with their parents is imperative at the time of admission.
