Around 80 people from Punjab, Haryana and Rajasthan marched towards Prime Minister’s 7, Race Course Road residence after civil society activist Arvind Kejriwal appealed to people at Ramlila Ground to stage protests outside MPs residences. They were also carrying flowers with them.

There were reports that some of the agitators were detained by the police. However, KC Dwivedi, additional commissioner of police (New Delhi) said that none of the protesters were detained. “They were not detained, in fact, transported to Ramlila Maidan after they claimed that they had come to support Anna’s rally,” said Dwivedi, adding, only half of them had reached outside the PM’s house while others were stopped at K Kamaraj Road.

According to the additional CP, those who managed to reach outside the official residence of the Prime Minister demanded to meet him. “Their demand was turned down by the security personnel as it was Sunday and a non-working day. They were first taken to the local police station and later dropped at Ramlila Maidan in police vehicle,” added Dwivedi.
