Deepak Bhadana (25), who ran a cattle-feed business and also owned farm land in Faridabad, was shot at point blank range in Dallupura village near New Ashok Nagar as his horrified relatives watched.
On Friday night, 35-year-old vegetable vendor Sanjay Yadav was killed and Ashok Kumar, a shopkeeper, injured after two men fired at them in southwest Delhi’s Najafgarh following an argument. Kumar’s scooter had grazed one of the men, police said.
Sunday’s incident, too, was similar.
Bhadana was returning from a family wedding with his relatives in a hired Innova when the taxi allegedly brushed against a Ford Endeavour at Dallupura timber market, police said. It led to an argument between the taxi driver and the SUV driver, who has not been named by police.
Bhadana stepped in and tried to cool tempers.
“The SUV driver was drunk and he misbehaved with Deepak. As Deepak returned to the car, the man rolled down the car window, took out a pistol and shot him in the head,” said Sukhbir Singh Bhadana, a cousin.
Bhadana died on the spot and the driver of the SUV, registered in neigbouring Uttarakhand, fled the spot. Police said they had identified the man but didn’t share the details.
Bhadana got married five months ago and was the only earning member of the family.
Elder of five siblings, Bhadana took up the responsibility of looking after the family after his father died two years ago, his cousin said.
