Rs 40-lakh robbery at trader’s home in Palwal

Over half a dozen armed dacoits looted a house of lakhs of rupees worth valuables in Palwal township in the intervening night of Thursday and Friday.

Over half a dozen armed dacoits looted a house of lakhs of rupees worth valuables in Palwal township in the intervening night of Thursday and Friday. The police suspect hand of some Nepali nationals in the dacoity. Police teams have been rushed to places bordering Nepal, officials said.

The police said more than half a dozen armed dacoits forced their entry inside the house of trader Vishal Gupta in Old GT Road area and tied the family before robbing valuables and cash worth Rs 40 lakh.

"We have registered a case of dacoity and suspect the hand of some Nepali nationals," said Rajbir Singh, deputy superintendent of police (DSP), Palwal.
Singh said, "This was probably the first kind of dacoity in Palwal in the recent past."

In another incident, a 70-year-old was murdered in his house in Ballabgarh area on Friday. Vinod Maheswari was asleep when some armed goons entered his home and killed him before looting some valuables.
