Senior UNI journalist dies in road accident

Yogendra Shukla, a special correspondent of UNI, was killed in a road accident near Aurangabad in Maharashtra.

Yogendra Shukla, a special correspondent of UNI, was killed in a road accident near Aurangabad in Maharashtra early on Wednesday. He was 58.

Shukla's wife Sheela Rani and daughters Sameeksha and Daksha were injured in the accident when the car they were travelling in had a head-on collision with a speeding truck at Bhokarwadi, 60 kms from Aurangabad.

The car driver died on the spot, while Shukla breathed his last at the Dhoot Hospital at Aurangabad where his family members are admitted.

Their condition is stated to be stable. Shukla and his family were returning to Aurangabad from a pilgrimage to Aundhya Nagnath and Parli Vaijanath when the accident occured.

Shukla had been working with UNI since 1979 in Delhi and was covering the Congress party.
