Congress president Sonia Gandhi today expressed deep anguish over the death of at least 36 people as the Delhi-bound Kalka Mail met with an accident near Malwa station in Uttar Pradesh.

Congress president Sonia Gandhi on Sunday expressed deep anguish over the death of at least 36 people as the Delhi-bound Kalka Mail met with an accident near Malwa station in Uttar Pradesh.

Gandhi urged the authorities to take immediate relief and rescue measures.

At least 35 people were killed and over 200 injured when 15 bogies of a speeding Delhi-bound Kalka Mail derailed at 12.20pm when the packed train from Howrah reached near Malwa station, nearly 120 kms from Lucknow.
