Cabinet Secretary K M Chandrashekhar, who heads the NFC, expressing happiness over timely completion of the T3 in a record time of 37 months said, "this airport is an asset which India will cherish for years to come -- something which the country had lacked till now."
The members, after their last meeting at the airport and visit to the T-3 facilities on Tuesday, also said they were "proud to have associated with the venture."
The new integrated domestic and international terminal would be inaugurated by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on July 3.
During the meeting, Civil Aviation Secretary M Madhavan Nambiar briefed about the details of the airport and informed the NFC members that IGI airport has moved to the 21st rank this year from 101 in 2007 as per the Airport Service Quality Rating, by which all international airports are rated.
