His counsel AP Singh told special judge Yogesh Khanna that his client’s hand was broken by inmates in Tihar jail to stop him from appearing in an Indian Air Force clerical test on April 7. He demanded that Sharma be shifted to Rohini jail.

The accused, who has been asking for health food and newspapers in jail, had injury marks all over his body.

Tihar jail authorities denied the allegations while the medical report of GB Pant Hospital stated that Sharma’s elbow was fractured “due to a fall”.

Khanna ordered the Tihar jail superintendent to personally explain the injuries.

Ram Singh, the prime accused, was found dead in Tihar jail and police had said he committed suicide.
