According to the police, two men, Hemant and Sachin Malik, were drinking near their white Skoda car in the vicinity of the airport at around 1.10 am, when Central Industrial Security Froce (CISF) personnel hailed them.

"The CISF personnel conducting security checks found their behaviour suspicious and summoned them. However, the duo started running, prompting the personnel to fire one round in the air with a pistol," a police official said.

"This did not stop the men, who got inside their car. The personnel fired two more rounds of fire at the tyres of the car, thus managing to get hold of them. They also recovered a bottle of liquor (from them)," a police official said.

The CISF then handed over the men, both in their mid 20s and hailing from Dwarka and Najafgarh, to Delhi Police.

"A team of intelligence officials and Delhi Police is now interrogating the two men and verifying their antecedents," the official said.
