JAC result 2018: Jharkhand board intermediate, matric results to be declared this week
The Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC) will announce the results of matriculation or Class 10 and intermediate or Class 12 board examinations by this week, a senior official said on Tuesday.

The council, which conducts both the examinations, is giving final touches and the intermediate results are expected by June 7, its chairperson Arvind Singh said.
“The intermediate results will be announced first followed by matric result,” he added.

Singh said the council was continuously upgrading the system for speedy evaluation and timely announcements of results as lakhs of students and their parents have been waiting anxiously.
“Generally it takes 45 days for evaluating answer sheets, which got delayed to some extent due to local body elections held in 34 urban local body in April, as teachers and officials were engaged in poll duties,” he said.
This year, 316,369 students appeared in intermediate exams - 92,073 in science stream, 40,173 in commerce and 1,84,123 in humanities.
Last year, 52.36% students passed the exams and the pass percentage in humanities was 71.95, 52.36 in science and 60.09 in commerce streams.
There was a decline of about 6% in the number of students who cleared the exam as compared to 2016 due to tough question papers and strict evaluation.
In the matric exam, 426,327 students appeared this year. Last year, about 68% students cleared the matric exam.
“We are just examining body. The results depend on several factors. The number of students, their calibre, availability of teachers, teaching standards, number of teaching days and overall environment also make a difference,” Singh said.
