Five Indian institutions feature in QS World University rankings for social science
Five Indian institutions have featured in the top 200 in the 2011 QS World University rankings for social sciences. These include: Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IITD); Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IITK); Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur (IITKGP); Indian Statistical Institute; and Jawaharlal Nehru University.

Full results are available on Indian institutions have performed relatively well overall in the rankings by subject, featuring in the top 200 in 17 out of 26 subjects ranked. The QS World University rankings by subject are the first to rank universities at individual subject level in the world. With a methodology tailored to fit each subject, the rankings are based on academic reputation, employer reputation and citations per paper.

Applications invited for BSc in international marketing at University of Southampton
University of Southampton’s School of Management is inviting applications for its four-year BSc course in international marketing. The programme aims to provide students a unique perspective of marketing in the UK, France and Spain. It includes an international placement year in the third year which is compulsory for all students. The international element of the programme is delivered through a partnership with an international university, where their students study along with Southampton students in the second year and Southampton students study abroad (in France or Spain) along with their students in the third year. The students will then return to their home universities to complete the fourth and final year of study. The structure includes introduction to management analysis, marketing, accounting and financial control, and human resource management. The fee for the October 2011 session is £10, 820.
