Sushant Singh Rajput might have dropped out of engineering college, but he sure seems to understand the importance of good education. Now, to do his bit, the Bollywood actor, along with some of his seniors from college (who have studied at leading B-schools in India), is launching an initiative to offer scholarships to students, who do not have the funds required for higher studies.

A source close to Sushant says, “He strongly believes that education plays a very important role in a person’s life. He wants to give as many youngsters as he can the opportunity to do their best.”

According to the insider, Sushant is launching this initiative in the memory of his late mother. “She inculcated these values in him, and always stressed on the importance of studying,” says the source.

As of now, the details of the programme are being kept under wraps. All that is clear so far is that the actor will be getting in touch with various schools across India to find the students. The scholarships will apparently be offered to bright pupils from all over the country.

The insider reveals that Sushant will fund their education at some of the top universities in the UK. Confirming the news, Sushant says, “My mother always emphasised on the importance of and need for education. I lost her a few years ago, and I want to do this for her. I’m putting a team together to make this happen.”
