Description:Maheshwar Hazari, the current leader of the Hazari family that once challenged the Dalit politics of Ram Vilas Paswan in the Mithila region, is in the Nitish Kumar government ahead of the 2025 election. Maheshwar Hazari and Ram Vilas Paswan are also cousins. Maheshwar Hazari's father Ramsevak Hazari was a Lok Sabha MP and MLA. Maheshwar Hazari won both the elections of 2005 from Warisnagar seat on the LJP ticket. In the 2009 Lok Sabha elections, he joined JDU and went to Parliament after winning from Samastipur. In 2010, his father Ramsevak Hazari became MLA from Kalyanpur and since 2015 Maheshwar Hazari has been continuously winning from this seat. Hazari has also been deputy speaker of the Bihar legislative assembly. In the 2024 Lok Sabha election, when Chirag Paswan did not give the ticket to Hazari's son Sunny Hazari from Samastipur, Sunny Hazari joined the Congress and contested but lost to LJP-RV candidate Shambhavi Chaudhary, daughter of JDU minister Ashok Chaudhary.
