Description:Vijay Kumar Choudhary, a senior leader in Nitish Kumar's Janata Dal (United) (JDU), is considered one of his closest and most influential advisers. Vijay Choudhary's political career began with the Congress, and he was elected MLA three times. However, after facing repeated defeats, he joined the JDU in 2005. His father, Jagdish Prasad Choudhary, was a dedicated Congressman and a multi-term MLA. After his father's demise in 1982, Vijay left his job at the State Bank of India to enter politics and continue his family's legacy. After joining the JDU, he won the Sarairanjan seat for the first time in 2010 and has been winning continuously ever since including in 2020. He has held numerous key ministerial portfolios in Nitish Kumar's governments, including Parliamentary Affairs, Water Resources, Finance, Education, Agriculture, Information and Public Relations, among others. When the first Mahagathbandhan government was formed in 2015, Vijay Kumar Choudhary was appointed as the Speaker of the Bihar assembly, a position he held until 2020. He remains a key policymaker for the JDU, respected for his political acumen and deep loyalty to Nitish Kumar.
