Goa Election: Aldona Assembly Constituency 2022

Aldona is one of the 40 Goa Legislative Assembly Constituencies that comes under the North Goa district. Goa Assembly Election 2022 for Aldona was held on February 14 and the result was declared on March 10.

Aldona assembly constituency had 27,439 electors in 2017, out of which 13,234 were male voters and 14,205 females. The None of the Above (NOTA) option got 0.7% votes.

What happened last time

In 2017, 6 candidates were competing for Aldona assembly constituency seat. Aldona was one of 13 seats won by the Bharatiya Janata Party. It was a one way contest with Bharatiya Janata Party's Glenn Souza Ticlo comfortably winning the election defeating Indian National Congress's Amarnath Panjikar by a huge margin of 4,456 votes.

82.3% of the total votes were casted to top three candidates. Bharatiya Janata Party's Glenn Souza Ticlo grabbed a total of 9,405 votes, while Indian National Congress's Amarnath Panjikar got 4,949 votes. Aam Aadmi Party's candidate Rosy Ursula D'souza bagged 3,272 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties registered 43.9%, 23.1% and 15.3% respectively.

In Goa Assembly election 2012, Bharatiya Janata Party's Ticlo Glenn J V A E Souza outperformed Indian National Congress's Dayanand G. Narvekar by 3,476 votes.
