Goa Election: Marcaim Assembly Constituency 2022

Marcaim comes under the North Goa district and it is one of the 40 Goa Legislative Assembly Constituencies . People of Marcaim voted for Goa Assembly Election 2022 on February 14 and the result was declared on March 10.

Marcaim assembly constituency had 26,984 electors in 2017, out of which 13,330 were male voters and 13,654 females. The None of the Above (NOTA) option got 1.4% votes.

What happened last time

In 2017, 5 candidates were competing for Marcaim assembly constituency seat. Marcaim was one of 3 seats won by the Maharashtrawadi Gomantak. It was a one way contest with Maharashtrawadi Gomantak's Ramkrishna Alias Sudin Dhavalikar comfortably winning the election defeating Bharatiya Janata Party's Pradeep Pundalik Shet by a huge margin of 13,680 votes.

89.2% of the total votes were casted to top two candidates. Maharashtrawadi Gomantak's Ramkrishna Alias Sudin Dhavalikar got a total of 17,093 votes, while Bharatiya Janata Party's Pradeep Pundalik Shet got 3,413 votes. Indian National Congress's candidate Urmila Alias Vindiksha Vinod Naik grabbed 1,259 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties secured 74.4%, 14.9% and 5.5% respectively.

In Goa Assembly election 2012, Maharashtrawadi Gomantak's Ramkrishna Alias Sudin Dhavalikar beat Indian National Congress's Ritesh Naik by 7,230 votes.
