Panaji comes under the North Goa district and it is one of the 40 Goa Legislative Assembly Constituencies . People of Panaji voted for Goa Assembly Election 2022 on February 14 and the result was declared on March 10.
In Goa Assembly Election 2017, there were 22,203 registered voters for Panaji assembly seat, out of which 10,648 were male and 11,555 were female voters. 0.8% of voters opted for for the None of the Above (NOTA) option.
In the Goa Legislative Assembly Election 2017, Panaji constituency had 7 candidates for assembly seat contention. Panaji was one of 13 seats won by the Bharatiya Janata Party. Bharatiya Janata Party's Sidharth Sripad Kuncalienker won the election by upstaging United Goans Party's Atanasio J. Monserrate by a margin of 1,069 votes.
The top three candidates split 97.4% of votes between them. Bharatiya Janata Party's Sidharth Sripad Kuncalienker got a total of 7,924 votes, while United Goans Party's Atanasio J. Monserrate secured 6,855 votes. Aam Aadmi Party's candidate Valmiki Naik grabbed the third spot with 1,944 votes. The top three parties got 46.2%, 39.9% and 11.3% respectively.
In Goa Assembly election 2012, Bharatiya Janata Party's Manohar Parrikar defeated Indian National Congress's Yatin Parekh by 6,068 votes.
