St. Andre is the assembly constituency which comes under the North Goa district. It is one of the 40 Goa Legislative Assembly Constituencies . Goa Assembly Election 2022 for St. Andre was held on February 14 and the result was declared on March 10.
In Goa Assembly Election 2017, there were 20,948 registered voters for St. Andre assembly seat, out of which 9,738 were male and 11,210 were female voters. 0.7% of voters opted for for the None of the Above (NOTA) option.
In the Goa Legislative Assembly Election 2017, St. Andre constituency had 10 candidates for assembly seat contention. Total 17 seats were won by the Indian National Congress, St. Andre was one of them. The election for St. Andre seat was comfortably won by Indian National Congress's Francisco Silveira defeating Bharatiya Janata Party's Ramrao Surya Naik Wagh by a huge margin of 5,070 votes.
The top three candidates split 82.3% of votes between them. Indian National Congress's Francisco Silveira got a total of 8,087 votes, while Bharatiya Janata Party's Ramrao Surya Naik Wagh secured 3,017 votes. Maharashtrawadi Gomantak's candidate Jagdish Umakant Bhobe grabbed the third spot with 2,393 votes. The top three parties got 49.3%, 18.4% and 14.6% respectively.
In Goa Assembly election 2012, Bharatiya Janata Party's Vishnu Surya Naik Wagh outperformed Indian National Congress's Francisco Silveira by 1,219 votes.
