What happened last time

In the Karnataka Legislative Assembly Election 2018, Bellary constituency had 8 candidates for assembly seat contention. Bellary was one of 80 seats won by the Indian National Congress. It was a close contest with Indian National Congress's B Nagendra winning the election upstaging Bharatiya Janata Party's Sanna Pakkirappa by a margin of just 2,679 votes.

The top two candidates split 96.4% of votes between them. Indian National Congress's B Nagendra got a total of 79,186 votes, while Bharatiya Janata Party's Sanna Pakkirappa secured 76,507 votes. Janata Dal (Secular)'s candidate D Ramesh secured 3,212 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties got 49.1%, 47.4% and 2.0% respectively.

In Karnataka Assembly election 2013, Badavara Shramikara Raitara Congress Party's B. Sreeramulu beat Indian National Congress's Asundi Vannurappa by 33,294 votes.
