The top two candidates split 95.3% of votes between them. Bharatiya Janata Party's Narasimhanayak (RAJUGOUDA) got a total of 1,04,426 votes, while Indian National Congress's Raja Venkatappa Naik secured 81,858 votes. Janata Dal (Secular)'s candidate Raja Krishnappa Nayak secured 4,796 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties got 53.4%, 41.9% and 2.5% respectively.
