Udaybhan Singh grabbed a total of 1,08,586 votes, while Bahujan Samaj Party's Surajpal Singh got 56,249 votes. Rashtriya Lok Dal's candidate Brijesh Kumar Chahar bagged 38,307 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties registered 47.7%, 24.7% and 16.8% respectively.
In Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2012, Bahujan Samaj Party's Surajpal Singh beat independent candidate Rajkumar Chahar by 5,623 votes.
