In Kashi, over 30 lakh voters to seal fate of 70 candidates today

A total of 1,473 divyang mitras (volunteers) have been deployed at polling stations here for providing assistance to the differently-abled and the elderly who come for voting on Monday.
The volunteers have been deployed as per instructions by district magistrate Kaushal Raj Sharma.
Over 30 lakh voters will decide the fate of 70 candidates on eight seats of Varanasi on Monday.
Divyang mitras include civil defence personnel, volunteers of Nehru Yuva Kendra and Yuvak Mangal Dal, NCC cadets and NSS members.
Wheel chairs have also been arranged at polling booths.
Police commissioner A Satish Ganesh and the district magistrate inspected dispatch centres set up at UP College, Pahariyan Mandi, Jagatpur and Uday Pratap Inter College.
Ganesh said that 40 companies of central security forces have been deployed in Varanasi commissionerate. In addition, around 2,500 policemen have also been deployed.
