All India Trinamool Congress's Dipak Kumar Halder got a total of 96,833 votes, while Communist Party Of India (Marxist)'s Dr. Abul Hasnat secured 81,796 votes. Bharatiya Janta Party's candidate Balaram Halder secured 14,614 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties got 49.1%, 41.5% and 7.4% respectively.

In West Bengal Assembly election 2011, All India Trinamool Congress's Dipak Kumar Halder defeated Communist Party Of India (MARXIST)'s Subhra Sau by 20,774 votes.
