Dr. Phil McGraw thinks both Kim Kardashian and Kanye West could lose their children amid reports of the former seeking full custody. In the wake of the 24-time Grammy winner's erratic behaviour, including his unprovoked social media attack against Jay-Z and Beyonce's kids, the SKIMS founder began considering applying for sole custody, per TMZ. But, the 74-year-old television personality believes it may backfire on her if she does not take immediate legal action against her ex-husband. Here's why.

“If you need an emergency intervention, then you get an emergency intervention,” McGraw said during Wednesday's episode of TMZ’s 2 Angry Men podcast. “What we don’t want is for these children to wind up in foster care because that system is broken,” he explained before adding that even their parent's money can't help them in such a situation. The Kardashians star and West share four kids: North, 11, Saint, 9, Chicago, 7, and Psalm, 5.

McGraw went on to say, “If you think, ‘Well, with this kind of money, they’re not gonna wind up in foster care,’ well, that’s wrong,” adding, “If the [Department of Children and Families] gets involved and thinks one parent isn’t reacting while the other is unstable, they will take them.”

Although the department is “likely to place them with family members rather than strangers, you don’t want these children left hanging out to dry,” McGraw warned. The talk show host's remark comes as the outlet previously reported last week that Kardashian was debating whether or not to strip West of their joint legal custody following the release of her ex-husband's new song that featured their 11-year-old daughter, North's vocals.
