No, Rakhi Sawant wasn’t in Parliament on Monday just for kicks. The actor says next on her mind is politics, and she’s serious about it.
“Ab ek item girl neta ban kar dikhayegi aur desh ki sewa karegi ... mera sapna apne naam ke aage MP likha dekhne ka hai,” says the 33-year-old.
“Ek bade mantri ke invitation par main unse milne Parliament gayi thi. And I closely saw how the parliament functions as I need to be fully prepared before joining politics,” she says, refusing to reveal the minister’s identity. To more probing, she says: “Aap mera political career shuru hone se pehle hi khatam karwa doge.” She also refuses to divulge which party she’ll join, but reveals: ‘Sonia Gandhi ji is my idol and I carefully listen to Rahul Gandhi’s speeches for inspiration.”
The Parliament visit has left her upset with actor-turned MP Smriti Irani’s “rude” behaviour. “Mujhe unke saath photo khichwaani thi, unhone mana kar diya,” she says.
