Out for a brunch
Go casual, yet chic. “It’s not a formal event, so you can work a multitude of handbags at a brunch party. A portable clutch would be perfect”, says designer Leena Singh. “Pair a neon satchel with a plain white dress and you are set,” say designer duo Falguni and Shane Peacock.

A formal dinner
According to designer Jenjum Gadi, formal dinners are all about a classy and clean look. “The makeup should be kept to bare minimum and clothes should not be very flashy. Keeping in mind the subtlety, a simple envelope clutch is the way to go,” he suggests.

High-tea fashion

Reminiscent of Edwardian and Victorian era, high tea parties are all about lady-like class. According to designer Gaurav Gupta, "These occasions are best to flaunt a smart, midsized leather bag." Elegant bucket bags and baguette bags are also ideal for such parties.



Dinner date time

What you sport on a dinner date depends on which restaurant your beloved has reserved the table at. "If it’s a high-end place, then a chic sling bag works. If it’s a more chilled out date, then play with totes, shoulder bags and hobos," say designers Falguni and Shane Peacock.

Cocktail party
The only place where you can go all-out sexy and glamorous. It’s the perfect occasion to bring your bling out of the closet. “Cocktail parties range from high-street fashion labels to grunge looks,”says designer Jenjum Gadi. A studded minaudiere will work best.

Bag etiquette
We know how prestigious it is to own an ‘original’ label but don’t walk around showing off a poor imitation. Let’s keep the purses low, and the glam quotient up. Also, only because over-sized totes are in fashion, doesn’t make it right to carry them everywhere. Choose your bag as per the event and your attire.
