A 35-year-old woman was allegedly raped by her company’s cab driver in Manesar for nearly two years.

The accused Harish Chauhan from Kasan village in Manesar was arrested on Thursday and sent to judicial custody after being produced before a city court, the police said.

In 2014, Chauhan had gone to drop the woman to her house. On the way, he offered her water laced with sedatives. When the woman fell unconscious, he raped her, the police said.

The woman alleged that in the past two years, Chauhan sedated and raped her more than 10 times. She said he shot a video of the act and clicked her obscene pictures. He then used the pictures and videos to blackmail the woman and force her to establish physical relationship with him many times.

However, unable to take the threats any further, the woman reached the women police station and lodged a complaint against Chauhan under IPC section 376 on Tuesday.

In her complaint, the woman stated that Chauhan threatened to upload her video and pictures on social networking sites and also informing her husband about it.

Assistant commissioner of police (Sadar) Dharna Yadav said, “The victim is a resident of Delhi and lived with her husband and children. She was sexually exploited over these years. She does not remember where he used to take her nor is she able to identify any location. We have recorded her statement and are investigating the case.”
