Three armed men allegedly snatched a white Volkswagen Polo car from a resident of Sector 110-A, who was returning to his residence after paying obeisance at the Gurudwara Bangla Sahib in Connaught Place, Delhi, on Sunday night.
According to the complainant, the incident occurred around 9.15pm when stopped at a grocery store on Rezang La Marg, Chauma road in Gurugram, to purchase a bottle of water.
“Just as I got inside my car, a man slid into the passenger seat. Not realising his intentions, I told him it wasn’t his car. That’s when he pulled out a gun from under his T-shirt and pointed it at me,” Arvinder Singh Bhamra said.
“I kept the calm and asked him what was wrong. Just then, two more men came to my side of the car, pointed a gun at me, pulled me out, beat me up, and sped away in my car,” Bhamra said.
After trying to chase after the accused in vain, Bhamra reached the Palam Vihar police station and reported the incident.
“A case has been registered against unknown persons under Section 392 (robbery) of IPC and relevant sections of the Arms Act. We are scrutinizing CCTV footage to trace the accused,” Palam Vihar station house officer Vikram Nehra said.
