Huda is laying major emphasis on beautifying parks, green belts, commercial buildings and public utility sites like community centres and markets to bring the city at par with the top cities of the world in terms of landscaping.
Huda administrator Praveen Kumar held a three-hour meeting with engineers and horticulturists to discuss the world’s best designs. He asked them to select the 10 top designs, majority of which belong to Chris.
Chris’ works mainly focus on medieval architecture and contemporary construction. He has also written several newspaper articles and books on these topics as well as a great number of articles on art and architecture history.
According to an official, the Huda administrator advised them to “adopt the designs on priority basis in the green belts along the Gurgaon Expressway”.
He also advised the officials to take assistance of experts and designers who have done landscaping in Delhi and Noida.
The horticulture officials are preparing estimates of parks and green belts falling in Huda areas in order to improve condition.
“We are working on landscaping and will seek the help of architects. We are committed to beautify the city,” said VK Nirala, executive engineer, horticulture. The administrator had last week purchased 50 books for beautification purpose such as 100 Top Buildings of World, Interior Design, Sports Complex, French Landscape Design, Spaces, among others. Most of the books belong to Chris.
