50 points to Gryffindor! Harry Potter star Matthew Lewis shares first pic as married man
Harry Potter star Matthew Lewis, who played the bumbling Neville Longbottom in the film series and later underwent a huge physical transformation, shared the news of his marriage on social media.
Harry Potter star Matthew Lewis on Monday announced his marriage to girlfriend Angela Jones in Italy. The actor shared their first picture as a married couple on his social media accounts, joking that he’d wanted to attend an Arctic Monkeys’ concert instead.

“Not only did I miss @ArcticMonkeys in LA but they were performing in Italy at the same time we were there and my wife made me get married instead. Fuming,” Lewis wrote, adding American and British flags in the caption.
Lewis reportedly met Jones, an American, at the January 2016 opening of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter theme park, where she worked. They started dating later that year, and according to TMZ, he proposed to her in Paris in November.
Lewis found fame for his portrayal of the bumbling Neville Longbottom in the Harry Potter film series. He gained further attention for his physical transformation and magazine spreads. Lewis most recently appeared in the TV series, Ripper Street and the films Me Before You and Terminal.
Fans congratulated Lewis on his wedding by making Harry Potter jokes. “Fifty points to Gryffindor!” one fan wrote. “Gryffindor wins!” wrote another.
