Actor Mark Ruffalo says Cate Blanchett’s character in Thor: Ragnarok is “worst of the worst”.
The 48-year-old actor will reprise the role of Bruce Banner/ Hulk in the third solo Thor film which stars the Oscar-winning actress as villain, reported ET online. “She plays the worst of the worst. So evil. She is going to kill us. It’s such a great part she gets to play,” Ruffalo said.
Marvel confirmed last week that Cate will indeed play the movie’s main antagonist, Hela, the Asgardian goddess of death. Because the third Thor instalment is about a year and a half away, it will be a while until we learn concrete details about this iteration of the character.
An earlier, unconfirmed report stated that Hela will be working with Loki (Tom Hiddleston) on an unknown scheme, and by the time Thor learns about what they’re up to, she’ll banish him from Asgard and destroy his hammer, Mjolnir.
In addition to natural Asgardian might, Hela is gifted with incredible mystic abilities, like killing someone with a single touch or resurrecting the souls of the dead resting in the afterlife she rules over, Hel.
Chris Hemsworth and Tom Hiddleston are set to return, as they will reprise the roles of Thor and Loki. Taika Waititi is directing the movie which is currently in pre-production. Thor: Ragnarok is scheduled to release on October 27, 2017.
