In the age of metrosexuals and an explosion of men’s grooming products, director Morgan Spurlock’s latest documentary explores what it means to be a man with a closer look at men’s facial hair.
From the director of Supersize Me, Comic-Con: Episode IV and The Greatest Movie Ever Sold, whose movies reveal insights about timely topics, ranging from fast food to film fanboys and the branding of everything, Spurlock turns to examine the current state of "mandom."
Interviews include humorous conversations with comic actors Zach Galifianakis (The Hangover), Will Arnett (Despicable Me), Jason Bateman (Horrible Bosses) and Paul Rudd (Dinner for Schmucks), director John Waters (Hairspray) and director/producer Judd Apatow (Bridesmaids), as well as everyday people expressing their thoughts and opinions.
With the growing popularity of men’s spa treatments and new grooming products, the film visits traditional barbershops, trendy hair salons and an international beard contest in Austria to discover the connection between masculinity and facial hair and secrets of being "mansome" -- not just handsome.
