Ryan Reynolds who has come a long way from starring in ‘R’ rated comedies, turns 41 on Monday.

Reynolds began his career with a Canadian teen soap opera in 1991, and his rise to the top culminated with 2016’s breakout hit, Deadpool.

Besides his thriving career as a Hollywood leading man - just this year, he starred in two movies, Life and The Hitman’s Bodyguard - he has established himself as a family man. He has two daughters with wife Blake Lively.

Here’s a look at his on his journey in the world of movies and his career milestones.

Ryan Reynolds in Hillside (1990). The show followed the students of fictional Hillside School and dealt with a variety of issues including dating, divorce, alcohol abuse, and friendship.
Reynolds as Van Wilder (2002). He played the most popular kid on campus who meets a beautiful journalist who makes him realize that maybe he’s afraid to graduate.
Reynolds in Blade: Trinity (2004). He played Hannibal King in the film.
Here he is in Smokin Aces (2006).
X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009) was the first time Reynolds played Deadpool on film, but both the movie and the character were poorly received.
He followed Wolverine with his first stab at playing the lead in a superhero franchise. But Green Lantern (2011) turned out to be one of the worst bombs of his career.
But it all worked out with Deadpool (2016). The superhero satire won critical and commercial acclaim, and opened a new chapter in Reynolds’ career.
