Director Ridley Scott seems to have devised an interesting strategy to keep viewers hooked to the opening of his film, Prometheus. The latest teaser of the sci-fi thriller actually whets the appetite for the upcoming trailer.

Prometheus stars Noomi Rapace, Charlize Theron, Michael Fassbender, Idris Elba and Guy Pearce.

Scott (Blade Runner, Robin Hood) will attend WonderCon 2012 to show exclusive footage from Prometheus in 3D, the quasi-prequel to Alien, marking his return to the sci-fi genre. Co-screenwriter Damon Lindelof will also be there for the Q&A.

The two will also show a new trailer at an event in downtown Anaheim. The teaser was released recently, showing glimpse of new shots from the film.

In 2012, actors and filmmakers planning to attend the 26th WonderCon include Ridley Scott, Emma Stone and Jonah Hill, showing excerpts of upcoming films and answering fans' questions.

Usually located in San Francisco, in 2012 the event has transferred to the Anaheim Convention Center as the Moscone Center undergoes renovation.

The film opens in IMAX 3D.
