As the global artificial intelligence impact summit moves into its second day on Tuesday, it is witnessing a packed schedule of high-impact sessions and a strong lineup of international speakers. Prime Minister Narendra Modi earlier today said the core objective of the India AI Impact Summit is to ensure that artificial intelligence serves the larger public good.

The summit's focus remains firmly on the big questions shaping the future of AI – from job disruption and public health to algorithms, child safety and the growing demand for data centres.
NITI Aayog CEO Amitabh Kant spoke on the second day of the India AI Summit 2026 in New Delhi, Kant cautioned that without a framework of Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI), artificial intelligence risks creating a deeply unequal global society.
He also stressed, “The important thing is that today we in India. I mean, if you look at open AI, Chat GPT, we are providing more data than the United States of America, 33% more data than what the United States of America do,” Kant added.
Day 2 promises intense discussions around how AI is reshaping economies and societies. Panels will look at how automation could affect employment, how AI tools are being deployed in healthcare, and what safeguards are needed to ensure child safety and responsible algorithm design.
The summit, being held at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi from February 16 to 20, is being billed as the first global AI summit hosted in the Global South.

Running alongside the summit is the India AI Impact Expo, which has brought together global technology firms, startups, academia, research institutions, Union ministries, state governments and international partners under one roof.

One glimpse at the long queues and teeming corridors at New Delhi’s Bharat Mandapam - the venue for the IndiaAI Impact Summit - is enough to show how democratised the generative AI boom has become. While a large part of this phenomenon is being built on journalism, big tech companies continue to undermine the economics of news publishing, experts warned at the summit
