Alliance Air flight skids off runway, all 59 passengers on-board safe

The Alliance Air flight had left Delhi at 11.52 am and reached Jabalpur at 1.15 pm. It skidded off the runway but the pilot skilfully brought it under control. All the passengers have been evacuated safely.

An Alliance Air flight on Saturday skid off the runway at the Dumna Airport in Jabalpur, an airline official said. All 59 passengers on board are safe.

“The plane skid off when it suffered a tyre burst while landing. Jabalpur Airport has been temporarily closed,” Jabalpur Airport director Kusum Das said.

According to information received from the airport director, the Alliance Air flight had left Delhi at 11.52 am and reached Jabalpur at 1.15 pm. It skidded off the runway but the pilot skilfully brought it under control. All the passengers have been evacuated safely. The aircraft is parked near the runway, due to which the airport has been temporarily closed.

A flight from Bangalore has also been delayed due to the incident. Airport officials have informed the DGCA.

“The incident will be investigated as per the rules of DGCA and the technical team will investigate the plane. The actual cause of the accident will be confirmed only after the technical team’s investigation,” she added.
