CBI charges Aman Mani Tripathi with murder of his wife, Sara
The Central Bureau of Investigation formally charged Aman Mani Tripathi, son of four-time Uttar Pradesh legislator Amar Mani Tripathi, on Saturday with murdering his wife, Sara Singh.

“During the investigation, it was found that after her marriage, Sara Singh was allegedly being subjected to physical torture and cruelty by the accused. She was allegedly murdered on July 9, 2015 with a premeditated plan to get rid of her by the accused and others. The accused framed it as a fake road accident and presented the same as cause of death of victim Sara Singh,” the CBI said in a statement.

Aman Mani’s parents – father Amar Mani Tripathi and mother Madhu Mani — are serving life term for murdering a poetess, Madhumita Shukla, in 2003.
The CBI arrested him on November 25 last year. He is in judicial custody now.
Sara’s mother, Seema Singh, filed an FIR against Aman Mani and his family members for allegedly murdering her daughter. She later sought a CBI probe into the case. Seema said that Aman Mani’s parents were against his marriage with Sara.
The Samajwadi Party had first declared Aman Mani an election candidate from Nautanwa in Maharajganj, but chief minister Akhilesh Yadav was believed to be against his candidature. Sources said despite the chief minister’s opposition, his uncle Shivpal had picked Aman Mani. But after a revolt by Akhilesh, Aman Mani was denied the ticket.
The chargesheet against Aman Mani was filed in a special CBI court in Ghaziabad.
