After being appointed as the Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Gupta expressed gratitude to the President of India, Droupadi Murmu, Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, home minister, Amit Shah and the entire Bharatiya Janata Party leadership.

“They considered me worthy of this responsibility, and now it is my responsibility to live up to their expectations,” Gupta said.

Further talking about the probable problems that might be posed during his tenure, he said that, “Challenges will be eradicated. I will work with full dedication for the people of Ladakh, and make sure that they are satisfied.”

According to an ANI report, the appointments of the new governors will take effect from the dates they assume charge of their respective offices, the Rashtrapati Bhavan announced on Monday.

The President also appointed Prof. Ashim Kumar Ghosh as the new Governor of Haryana and Pusapati Ashok Gajapathi Raju as the Governor of Goa, today.
