UP: Boys tortured with chillies, made to drink urine on theft suspicion
Two minors in Uttar Pradesh were allegedly tortured with chillies, injected with petrol, and forced to drink urine on suspicion of theft. Six of the eight accused have been arrested.
Lucknow: Two minors were allegedly tortured with chillies, injected with petrol and forced to drink urine on suspicion of stealing ₹2,000 from a poultry farm in Uttar Pradesh, police said on Sunday. Six of the eight accused have been arrested in the case while the other are absconding, an officer familiar with the matter said.
According to the police, the incident took place on August 4 when Saud Ali brought the two boys to his poultry farm in Siddharthnagar district on suspicion of stealing ₹2,000 and tortured them. The victims, who are aged 10 and 15, are back at their residences and are said to be in a state of shock. They are under observation of doctors, police said.
A video of the incident went viral late on Saturday.
Taking cognisance of the “objectionable act against two children”, the Siddharthnagar police registered a case against eight people under relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (Pocso) Act.
“Six accused, including Uzair, Sher Ali and four minors have been arrested and booked under the Pocso Act,” superintendent of police (Siddharthnagar), Abhishek Kumar Agarwal, said.
Two other accused — poultry farm owners Saud and Sappu — are absconding and a search operation has been launched to nab them, he added.
The family members of victims, meanwhile, said their sons are innocent and demanded stringent action against the accused.
“My son is mentally ill. The poultry farm owner forcibly took him from the village and tortured him,” father of the 10-year-old victim said.
